So I’ve just discovered The 52 Project by Practising Simplicity and absolutely love the concept and hopefully the acheiveability, so I’m starting mid-year but I don’t care and I’ll undoubtedly miss a few. But here goes…
We recently headed North for a family road trip, so here a few holiday snaps.
We visited my parents, who have a few chooks. Egg collecting is always a hit
We had a fun day riding the toboggan at the big banana, and strolling along the Coffs Harbour jetty.
And Stella turned one this week.

i have just realised i never shared the beautiful birth stories that i captured last year here. i had been so eager to photograph a birth for such a long time that i approached a couple of mummies to be, and eventually found two willing participants.
the first was gemma, this was her second birth. she had a super speedy birth, which unfortunately for me meant that i turned up about 2 minutes after the birth of her son jackson. but i still captured some beautiful moments as they got to soak in their new arrival.
i received the call that gemma was in labour at about 7am, she had gone into labour in the wee hours of the morning, and i think they were a little reluctant to call me out of my warm bed. as soon as i hung up the phone, unbeknown to me, gemma was pushing. i arrived at the delivery room and excitedly knocked on the door only to discover little jackson had just been born.
but don’t worry i had more luck second time round so stay tuned.

after months of planning we managed to coordinate a date for the lovely lambess family, we had a dream location at the hunter valley which of course was unavailable on the day. so we drove around looking for the perfect spot and found it just as the sun was setting, magic.
i had such a fantastic afternoon, i didn’t want to put the camera down, so many fab shots was hard to pick a few to share.
little winnie was such a trooper for the afternoon, despite the multiple outfit changes, warm weather, numerous bugs, long grass.
isn’t she stunning.
props made by the beautiful mummy, lauren.

it is such an honour to be asked to do a repeat family session, i met the lovely tan family around this time last year and i was so excited to see how much the kidlets had changed in a year. little gabby was a wee stationary bub this time last year and is now full of personality and definitely on the move, so it was a little more challenging than last year 😉
thanks prue for inviting me to once again capture your family.

i recently posted what i get up to when i’m not taking photos, here is another project just completed for my daughters 4th birthday last month.
a ‘little’ house renovation, we bought a secondhand cubby house online (it was originally a target one) and decked it out. i’m super pleased with how it turned out, it was worth the hours of painting in the shed at night, inhaling toxic paint fumes!
my fave parts….. the window box, the mailbox, the little green cupboard (bought off gumtree, nearlly didn’t get it as it was so ugly, but it came up awesome), the wall canvas (from the reject shop), how happy p was when she saw it and the hours of amusement it has already provided.
