granny squares | hannah grace photography

so it’s been a little bit quite here through winter, but i have filled my creative quota in a few different ways.

firstly i have taken up quilting, which i totally love. it’s quite therapeutic to chop things into small pieces and then but them together again. my first project was a cot quilt, and my second project is granny squares using gorgeous tilda fabrics.

here it is under construction…

before, each square is made up of 12 white and 13 coloured 3 ” squares. so in total i had to cut out 180 white squares and 195 coloured ones.

after (a bit wonky, but hey i’m a beginner), one down, fourteen more to go.

all the block squares completed

my favourite one (i think), love all the tilda fabrics, i did have to use a few ring ins though as i didn’t quite have enough tilda

the quilt top is now together, will update with pics soon

update, here is the finished quilt on my big girls bed. I’ve also started a facebook page called HELLO SUNSHINE so pop over and like me 😉
